Autodata rolls out three brand new modules as Christmas bonus

Subscribers to the Autodata information network in Australia and New Zealand will score a Christmas bonus with three brand new modules added to their Premium Package.

Autodata researchers have devoted hundreds of hours over the past 12 months to deliver modules on air conditioning services connectors, electric parking brakes and battery disconnection and reset procedures.
The new modules, the first added to the extensive Autodata range this year outside of regular updates, will satisfy a growing need for detailed drawings and explanations of  service procedures for emerging technologies like the electric parking brake.

One of the most popular modules will be the one which lifts the lid on the often obscure hiding places for air conditioning connectors and service ports.  “In vehicles like the Tarago mini van, it’s like looking for a needle in a haystack,” explains Autodata Australia’s national sales manager Brett Engeman.
“We believe our diagrams have the potential to save countless hours virtually wasted away in workshops by technicians trying to locate service ports in many vehicles,” he added.

With more vehicles coming off the assembly lines with a push button on the dash to activate the park brake, technicians are going to need the protocols for resetting and adjusting the brake before it can be allowed to leave the workshop.  Even knowing how to release the handbrake in the event of an emergency is covered in the electric parking brake module.
Loss of memory of a huge range of electrically operated components, like sunroofs, windows, navigation systems and alarms is now commonplace whenever the battery is disconnected or replaced.

The battery disconnection and reset procedures module explains how many of the comfort features of the modern vehicle can be restored through the ‘relearning’ process.

The three new modules will be made available free to the Autodata Complete premium package and introductory Burson package subscribers in December.

Autodata is a worldwide company which has established itself in Australia as a leading publisher and supplier of technical information in print and electronic formats.
